Founder Bio
Thressa Willett
Founder/Editor/Curator of The Portland Buzz, Thressa Willett is passionate about the community of Portland, Maine. She created The Portland Buzz in the summer of 2011. The concept was born out of her desire to find a collective community presence. While it’s wonderful that most organizations and businesses have embraced social media to self-promote, she noticed a gap, an overriding sense of separateness. With The Portland Buzz, Thressa aims to strengthen and unite artists, organizations, and local businesses by promoting community.
Native Mainer
Thressa Willett has a BA in English from the University of Southern Maine and a BFA (expected, 2012) in New Media from Maine College of Art. In addition to her love for writing and digital media, she’s a junkie for rockstar fashion, 80s everything, fiber arts, and dance. A native Mainer, and current Portland resident, Thressa has lived in Portland for over twenty years, bringing plenty of real-life experience and knowledge to her writing.
